At it's meeting on November 4, 2009; the Mayor and Council adopted Resolution 2009-08 amending the Charter.  This amendment increases the number of council members from 2 members to 4 members, staggers the terms of said members, and provides for the direct election of Mayor effective with the March 2010 election.  Therefore on March 13, 2010 we will be electing a Council member to serve a one year term; a Council member to serve a three year term; and a Mayor to serve a three year term.  Elections will be held March 13, 2010 at the Town Office; polls will be open 12:00 (noon) to 8:00 PM.  Results will be listed upon conclusion of the official count of ballots and posted on the public bulletin board, web site, and at the Town Office.  Anyone interested in petitioning for a Council or Mayor position will need to submit the Election Petition Form no later than 5:00 PM on February 12, 2010.  Forms may be picked up at the Town Office or downloaded.

The following people have filed for seats on the Council and for the position of Mayor for the upcoming election:

                Mayor:        T. Edward Robinson, George Mitchell, and R. Dennis Hager

                1-year Council position:    Sam Graybeal and Gary McGinnis

                3-year Council position:     Claude J. (CJ) Morales, Jr. and Lewis Teat
