| Mayor and Council By charter, the Town of Millington functions under a modified Mayor and Council form of government. There are three elected council members, who serve 3 year staggered terms. The current council members are R. Dennis Hager, Council; T. Edward Robinson, Mayor; and George Mitchell, Council. Elections and Organizational Meeting The election is held on the second Saturday in March. At the organizational meeting held at 8 pm on the first Monday of April, the Mayor swears in the new council member. Then the Council elects the Mayor from their ranks. Immediately following the election, the Mayor is sworn in by the Clerk of Court for Kent County, Maryland. The first item on the agenda after the ceremony is determining meeting times for the upcoming year. Meetings Currently, meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. All meetings are open to the public as required my the Maryland Open Meetings Act. The meeting schedule for the FY2009 is: January 6, 2010 February 3, 2010 March 3, 2010 April 5, 2010 May 5, 2010 June 2, 2010 July 7, 2010 August 4, 2010 September 1, 2010 October 6, 2010 November 3, 2010 December 1, 2010
