ROBVANARY PARK On July 1, 1975, the Mayor and Council of Millington purchased 3.024 acres from the Kent County Commissioners for the future use of a recreational park. In May, 1976 the Town entered into an agreement with the Millington Lions Club to develop this land into a recreational area. The Lions Club proposed to make improvements to the area to allow for family use, children's play area, and athletic field. In April, 1977 the Department of Natural Resources of Maryland approved a grant to assist in the development of Robvanary Park. This grant was used to assist in the purchase and installation of picnic tables, a parking lot, a ballfield, backstop and side guard, bleachers, playground equipment, construction of a picnic pavilion, and barbeque grills as proposed by the Millington Lions Club. In April, 1998 a grant was awarded to the Town to construct a pavilion at the park and purchase playground equipment. In August, 2002 a grant was awarded to the Town of Millington to install play equipment, make improvements to the pavilion, and construct a heart health trail. In September, 2005 the Mayor and Council agreed to invest monies into new play equipment. Robvanary Park has been used by local youth softball and baseball organizations, host to horseshoe tournaments, host to fund raiser for local flood victims and Kent Center, utilized by various private organizations for gatherings, and used by local youth for recreational purposes.
